Etsy patterns are for personal use only. Products made from these patterns cannot be sold, and the patterns cannot be used for paid classes or workshops.
When you create a Pattern Factory Wind account, you can receive free patterns to experience our pattern system before purchasing a Commercial License.
These free patterns may also be used for permitted commercial activities, allowing you to practice, try selling handmade products, or experience using a PFW pattern in a class before choosing a paid license.

Original PDF and SVG files may not be shared, resold, uploaded, or distributed to students, customers, other instructors, studios, or businesses.
Yes. You may make size adjustments when necessary for the actual product or materials used in your project.
However, the original or adjusted pattern itself may not be sold, shared, or redistributed as a pattern product.
Editable original Illustrator files are not provided.
First, check that the pattern was printed at the correct scale. Use the Test Page included in the Print & Pattern Guide, select Actual Size when printing, and confirm the 5 cm / 2 inch test square with a ruler.
Even when the pattern is printed correctly, the finished size may vary depending on the type and thickness of leather and the construction method.
Pattern Factory Wind samples are generally made using approximately 1.8 mm firm vegetable-tanned leather.
For patterns designed to fit items such as bottles or electronic devices, actual dimensions may also vary between manufacturers, products, and countries. Please check the actual item before production and adjust the pattern size when necessary.

Select the appropriate paper size, choose Actual Size in your printer settings, and confirm that the 5 cm / 2 inch test square measures correctly with a ruler before printing the remaining pages.
Yes. You may print the patterns as many times as reasonably necessary for production and classes operated under your Commercial License.
However, printed patterns may not be distributed to another person, studio, or business for their independent commercial use.
Each pattern detail page in the Pattern Library includes a YouTube tutorial link for that specific pattern.
Promotional Content includes materials such as finished product photos and short videos provided by Pattern Factory Wind to help you promote products made using our patterns.
The type and amount of Promotional Content provided may vary by Commercial License plan.

Yes. For plans that include a specific number of patterns, such as BASIC and STANDARD, you can choose the patterns you want from the Pattern Library.
PRO and MASTER provide access according to their full-library access terms.
PRO and MASTER include 12 months of Update Access to the Pattern Library and newly released patterns.
If you choose not to renew Update Access after 12 months, you may continue using all patterns you already received under your Commercial License.
You simply will not receive patterns released after your Update Access ends.
DROP Curriculum is a class-ready pattern curriculum designed to help instructors and studio owners organize leathercraft classes and workshops using selected Pattern Factory Wind projects.
A Commercial License is intended for one individual or one business/studio.
Employees or team members may use the licensed patterns when working on behalf of that licensed business.
However, an employee or team member who uses the patterns for their own separate brand, shop, or commercial activity must obtain their own Commercial License.
The license also cannot be shared with another independent studio or business.
No. The restriction applies not only to digital files but also to printed copies when they are provided for another person or business to use independently for commercial purposes.
PDF, SVG, printed copies, or other reproductions of the pattern may not be provided to another studio or business for their own commercial activity.
Yes. A student may sell the finished item they personally made during a class operated by an instructor or studio with a valid Commercial License.
However, the Commercial License itself does not transfer to the student.
If the student wants to continue making additional products from the same PFW pattern for their own ongoing commercial activity, they must obtain their own Commercial License.
Yes. Commercial License holders may use the pattern files and other materials provided by Pattern Factory Wind to create teaching materials for their own permitted classes and workshops.
You may use relevant pattern diagrams, finished product photos, illustrations, instructions, and other provided content when preparing your class materials, and those class materials may be distributed to students participating in your class.
However, the original digital PDF, SVG, or other PFW source files may not be distributed directly to students.
Receiving class materials also does not give students a Commercial License. If a student wants to use the pattern for ongoing independent product sales or other commercial activities, they must obtain their own Commercial License.
